William H. Morgan III, 81, of Lititz, died peacefully at his home on Friday, April 27, 2018. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late, William H. Jr. and Carolyn Nixdorf Morgan. Earlier in his life, Bill was the owner and operator of the Chevron Gas Station, Oregon Pike, Lancaster. For over forty years he worked for Stoltzfus Cabinet Shop, Talmage, remodeling and installing Amish made kitchens, and bathrooms. Following retirement, he provided transportation for the Amish community throughout Lancaster County for over three generations. Bill was the loving husband of Florence J. “Floss” Bowman Morgan and they observed their 56th wedding anniversary in January of this year. He was a faithful and active member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rothsville, where he served on the Property Committee. He was an expert wood craftsman and enjoyed working on cars. Bill had a true passion for fishing. He loved spending time in his vegetable garden and would give many of his vegetables away to friends, family, and neighbors. In his earlier years he helped with the local Cub Pack & Boy Scout Troop in Rothsville. Throughout his life Bill had a caring heart for all animals; especially cats, dogs, and horses. Animals instinctively were drawn to his kind and gentle nature. He was a caring and humble servant who loved his family, and his Lord.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Floss, are two sons, Jeffrey S. husband of Beth Morgan, of Lititz, Chad W. Morgan of Lititz, four grandchildren: Daniel, Nick, Shayna, Christina, and two sisters: Connie Billingsley of Scottsdale, AR, and Carol Bushong of Lititz. Preceding him in death is a brother, Harry Morgan.
