William D. “Bill” Albers, 61, of Lititz, and formerly of San Diego, CA; died at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, he was the son of the late Donald L. Albers and the late Della M. Graham Triplett. He was the loving husband of Janet Porter Albers and they observed their 26th wedding anniversary in April of this year. In 1978 Bill received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho in Fishery Biology; he later received a doctorate of chiropractic from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Bill was in private practice as the owner and operator of Lititz Chiropractic from 1988 till the present time; previously he was in private practice as Albers Chiropractic in Mechanicsburg and in Santa Rosa, CA. He was certified as an Industrial Disability Examiner and a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California. Bill had memberships with the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association and the Palmer Alumni Association. In 1978 through 1983 Bill was employed as a Fishery Biologist for the National Marine Fisheries Service. From 1983 through 1985 Bill worked for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Kodiak, Alaska. During this time Bill was a United States Observer of the Japanese Fishing Fleet in the Bering Sea.
Bill was an active and faithful member of Grace Church of Lititz where he served as a greeter, a volunteer on the medical response team, and as a co-leader of the Sunday school class Encouragers Adult Bible Fellowship. Bill’s interests includes: kayaking, fishing, rafting, reading, camping, hiking, traveling, snow skiing, surfing, and golfing. He had a life-long passion for his Lord, family, and caring for people.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters: Kate Ashley Albers a sophomore at Grove City College, Ellen Janet Albers a senior at Lititz Christian School, Jill Lynn Albers a sophomore at Lititz Christian School, a brother, David husband of Susan Triplett of Clinton, TN; and a sister, Nancy wife of Steve Lamott of San Diego, CA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Bill’s life celebration service at the Grace Church of Lititz, 501 West Lincoln Avenue, Lititz, on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. In lieu of flowers, Bill asked that any gifts be directed toward the Albers children’s college expenses. Such gifts may be made to Janet Albers, c/o David J.
