Wilkerson "Bill" Boone, 89, of Elizabethtown, and formerly of Oreland, PA, died Thursday September 29, 2011 after an unexpected illness. He was the husband of Isabelle (Johnston) Boone, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage in March of 2011. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Wilkerson D. and Ida Irene (Given) Boone. Bill was an engineer for the Philadelphia Gas Works for 27 years before retiring in 1980. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict, and served as a Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Bill was a graduate of Lafayette College, and received his masters' degree from Temple University. Bill was of the Lutheran Faith. He was a member of St. John's Lodge # 115 F&AM of Philadelphia, Ashara-Casiphia Lodge #551 F&AM of Mount Joy, Life member of the Retired Officers Organization, and a member of the Pennsylvania Engineer Association. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Linda Diane wife of James McCullough of Port Angeles, WA, Sandra Jean wife of Roger E. Banko of Preston MD; and three grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Masonic service and memorial service at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, at Masonic Village of Elizabethtown on Thursday October 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Thursday at Sell Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
