Wilbur H. Reist, 88, of Lititz, passed away on his birthday at Moravian Manor on July 27, 2015. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Rufus and Pearl (Hoffman) Reist. He was married for 42 years to the late Ann (Lindsey) Reist, who passed away in 1994.
A 1945 graduate of Lititz High School, Wilbur was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Polar Bear and served time in both the Arctic and Antarctic. Reist Rocks, a small group of rocks on the Antarctic coast, were named after Wilbur, who was a tractor driver with U.S. Navy Operation Windmill.
Wilbur worked at the Lititz Animal Trap Company and Wilbur Chocolate Company in his earlier years and retired from Huth Engineers Inc., where he worked as an accountant.
He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster and the East Hempfield Lions Club. He enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Hunt wife of Ronald, Millersville; son, David Reist, husband of Lance Echternach, Lancaster; grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Mace wife of Dr. Drew Mace, Lancaster; Kristin Hunt, Boston, MA; and a brother, Carl Reist, husband of Betty, Lititz. He is preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Clinton.

Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service at the Lititz Moravian Cemetery, South Cedar St., Lititz on Friday, July 31, at 10 am.
