Wilbur E. Miller, 83, of 3248 Echo Valley Road Manheim died peacefully following a brief illness on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Pleasant View Retirement Community Manheim. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late David G. and Mary Enterline Miller.
A life long farmer, Wilbur was owner and operator of his own farm in Rapho Township; he also was self employed as a car carrier transporter and helped to transport cars for over eighteen years and also worked part time for the Manheim Auto Auction for over forty years. He was the loving husband of Esther M. Bruckhart Miller and they observed their 63rd wedding anniversary in December of last year. Wilbur was a member of the West Green Tree Church of the Brethren Elizabethtown. He enjoyed hunting and was a past member of the Mastersonville Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Jesse W. husband of Rosene Horning Miller of Ephrata, Barry L. husband of Sheila Rudy Miller of Manheim, Steven G. Miller of Manheim, four daughters: Kathy A. wife of John Konkus of Pottsville, Ruthanne wife of James Gruber of Manheim, Joyce E. wife of Gerald Risser of Bainbridge, Judy E. wife of Donald Kauffman of Manheim, fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a brother, J. Kenneth husband of Dorcas Miller, of Manheim, and a sister, Mary Louise Miller of Manheim. Preceding him in death is a sister, Lois Irene Miller, and two brothers: Richard and Ray Miller.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service from the West Green Tree Church of the Brethren 740 Greentree Road Elizabethtown on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kenneth Stewart and Pastor Don Hollinger officiating. Interment is in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with additional viewing time on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
