Warren K. Witmer, 89, of Brethren Village, Lititz and formerly of Landisville went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle, Lititz. Born in Lititz, he was the son of the late Wayne and Mary Keller Witmer. He was the loving husband of Marion E. Groff Witmer and they would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in December.
A lifetime farmer, Warren owned and operated his farm in East Hempfield Township. He was an active and faithful member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church where he served as an usher and trustee. Warren volunteered at the Mount Joy Gift & Thrift and Choice Books, Manheim.
Warren loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Darrel husband of Natalie Hostetter Witmer of Landisville, Marilyn Sangrey of Mount Joy and Jerry husband of Daphne Myers Witmer of Landisville, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three siblings, Harold husband of Nyla Witmer of Lititz, Helen wife of Melvin Eby and Mary Ann wife of David Ebersole both of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dennis Sangrey and two brothers, Marvin and Kenneth Witmer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Warren’s memory to the Mount Joy Gift & Thrift, 413 West Main Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
