Walter H. “Wally” Wright, Jr., 88, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Hellertown, died peacefully Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center. He was the loving husband of Carolyn M. (Wassmann) Wright and they celebrated 66 years of marriage October 2017. Born in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of the late Walter H. Sr. and Helen F. (Richter) Wright. Wally was a systems technician for Bell Telephone for 44 years before retiring. Wally proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown. Wally was also a member of Abraham C. Treichler Lodge # 682 F&AM, Elizabethtown, The Zembo Shrine, and the High 12.
At the age of 50 Wally started running, and ran in 21 marathons, including the London, England Marathon, and he was a member of the Lehigh Valley Road Runners. He and his wife also enjoyed hiking in U.S. National Parks, including some in Hawaii.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son Thomas W. Wright, San Francisco, CA; a daughter Linda C. wife of James Uhrich, Fogelsville; and 2 granddaughters Jana wife of Toshi Kunisada, Edison, NJ and Jessa Fritzges, Allentown.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend “Wally’s” memorial service on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, at Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, at 1:00 PM. Visitation with the family will be after the service.
