Virginia S. “Ginny” Seaman
Ginny Seaman of Lititz, passed away on Monday, December 17th after a very long full life of 102 years.
Ginny was born Virginia Scullin on June 20th, 1916 in Morrisville, PA., to John (Happy) and Suzanna Beysan Scullin. She had one brother, Jack who preceded her in death. Ginny married a soldier, Ralph Wilkin Seaman, (deceased 11/22/01) on Jan 3, 1942. She is survived by her four children; Tony (Guri) of Boca Raton, FL; Bob, (Marty) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; Suzanne Clark of Virginia Beach, VA; and Ginger Kessler (John) of Burtonsville, MD.
In addition to her children, Ginny is survived by her 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Ginny and Ralph moved frequently while Ralph was on active duty and later with Ralph’s work. They made many lifelong friends along the way and in 1967 the family settled on Eshleman Drive in Lititz. Ginny moved to the Luthercare Community in 2009.
She was well known in Lititz for her close to 20 years of teaching at the Tiny Tots nursery school program, participation in the Lititz Women’s Club, ABCs and Girl Scouts. Ginny was a long-time member of St. James Catholic Church, and a charter member of the Legion of Mary. She was a gifted poet, knitter, artist, candy maker, entertainer and pinochle player. She particularly enjoyed acting in many community stage productions and stretching the rules of most any game she played. She also loved hot dogs, ice cream and Wilbur chocolate!
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Avenue, Lititz, on Monday, January 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM with the Reverend James O’Blaney C.Ss.R as celebrant. Family and friends are welcome to say good bye at a viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz on Sunday, January 6, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Rosary will be said at 4:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home for anyone interested in participating. All are invited to attend a luncheon at the church on Monday following the service. Ginny will be laid to rest on Monday at 1:30 PM joining Ralph at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Matthew 25, Thrift Shop, 48 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
