Verna M. Noll, 79, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Paul B. and Elsie Haldeman Good. She was the loving wife of the late Reverend Grant G. Noll, who died in 2002. Verna was a homemaker and in her earlier years, she worked as a teller at Fulton Bank, Manheim for over twelve years. Verna also worked at Atlantic Breeders as an operator. She graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1952. Verna was a member of Akron Mennonite Church and served as a minister’s wife with her late husband in the following cities, Chicago and Pekin, Illinios; Brooklyn, New York; Hydro, Oklahoma and Hague, Saskatchewan, Canada. An avid bowler, Verna participated in various bowling leagues and won several awards and trophies. She enjoyed gardening, game shows and singing, especially church choirs. Verna was known for her hospitality and everyone enjoyed her home cooked meals on Sunday after church. A sports enthusiast, she enjoyed tennis, hockey and baseball. Verna also enjoyed basketball and she was an Allen Iverson fan. Verna loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She watched and encouraged her children in all their sporting events. A loving grandma, Verna was great with her grandchildren.
Surviving is a daughter, Beth A. wife of J. Andrew Lehman of Manheim, a son, Grant Christopher husband of Heather Trout Noll of Red Lion, five grandchildren, Jessica M. Lehman, J. Benjamin Lehman, Tymothy N. Lehman, Sara C. Noll and Grant L. Noll, a sister, Shirley wife of Paul Benner of Manheim and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a sister, Janet M. Gish.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Hoffer Auditorium, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 11:30 AM. Interment in East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing at Hoffer Auditorium on Thursday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
