It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my beloved Mom, Vera A. Shank Ulrich, 93, of Manheim; who passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ida Sweitzer Shank. Vera was employed at the former Raymark Industries in Manheim for over 40 years; worked at the Manheim Auto Auction in the food service department for 20 years, and was a cook at The Caddy Shack, Manheim, for 28 years. Throughout her life Vera had a passion for her work and enjoyed the people she met at The Caddy Shack. She was a life member of the Manheim VFW Auxiliary and the Elstonville Sportsman Association. Vera was proud of all her brothers who served in the military and she enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.
Surviving is her beloved son, Kenny L. Shank of Manheim, a grandson, Duncan L. Shank of East Petersburg and many nieces and nephews. Vera was the last survivor of 17 children. Preceding her in death is a grandson, Bret D. Shank, ten brothers: Leroy, Herman, Harry, Arthur, Victor, Paul, Melvin Ray, Lester, Milford, and Lloyd Shank, six sisters: Edna Shank, Verna Hoffer, Elva Kline, Ruth Shank, Esther White, and Mable White.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
