Velma M. Gehman, 74, of 2283 Fruitville Pike Lancaster left us for her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at her home. Born in Manor Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Mildred B. Dombach Sensenig. She was the wife of the late Paul W. Gehman who died on June 22, 2009. Velma was a seamstress for the costume department at Sight & Sound Theatres, Strasburg. She was a 1954 graduate of Hempfield High School and a member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church where she was a pianist for many years. Her interests included sewing, playing the piano and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving is a son, Kenneth E. husband of Tara Gehman of Lebanon, a daughter, Cheryl L. wife of Bruce D. Gainer of Manheim; two grandsons, Jeremiah husband of Leann Gainer and Isaac Gehman; three brothers, H. Gerald husband of Martha Sensenig of Manheim, Dale D. husband of Iris Sensenig of Lancaster and Jay V. husband of Carolyn Sensenig of Spain.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at East Petersburg Mennonite Church 6279 Main Street East Petersburg on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 3:00 PM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again at the church on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Please omit flowers.
