Thomas C. Mahoney, 68, of Lititz, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late James Mahoney and the late Doris Mahoney Riddell; and the stepson of the late Lewis T. Ridell. He was a graduate of Milton Hershey High School, and attended Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio. Tom was the husband of RainBear Mahoney. He was the manager for the network computer center at Franklin and Marshall College working at the college for over 28 years. A veteran, Tom served in the United States Coast Guard with a deployment in Vietnam during the war. Tom was the Past Commander of the Ceremonial Guard of Lancaster County. Tom headed the campaign to bring the Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall to Lancaster County in 1994. He was a member of Toastmaster International helping to organize the local chapter in Lancaster and holding official leadership positions with the organization both locally and throughout the state. Tom was involved and known through the “Dog Fancy “world and was recognized for his handling the first corded standard poodle to its Grand Championship. He was the lead singer at the Lenape Red Thunder Drum, a Native American Drum Group.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Michelle wife of Ned Beck of Lititz. Preceding him in death is a son, Michael C. Robinson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Tom’s memorial service at Franklin & Marshall College, Life Sciences and Philosophy Building, in Bonchek Lecture Hall (across from Williamson Parking Lot, off of Harrisburg Ave., Lancaster), on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 12:00 Noon.
