Thelma (“Toni”) Brown, 81, of Ephrata, died on March 23, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care Center, Mount Joy, PA. Born in Nanticoke, PA on December 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Roynon and Florence Roberts Turley and the sister of Margaret Barre, Bette Barrall, Robert Turley and Ernest Turley. She was the wife of the late Frank Brown who died in April of 2003.
Thelma was a graduate of Nanticoke High School. She was employed as a retail clerk at J. J. Newberry, a bank teller at Peoples National Bank, an assistant to claims adjuster at State Farm Insurance and secretary at Rutgers University. She was an avid reader and a lover of dogs, big and small. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, crochet, watching television dramas, and had a sharp wit and an unusual and enjoyable sense of humor. Prior to residing in Ephrata, PA, she lived in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where she established numerous lasting friendships in her neighborhood.
Toni will be missed by many, including friends she made at The Groves in Ephrata and her four children, Debra Ciabatoni, Darlene Matzer, Ken Stewart, Donna Gray, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
