Tawnee Jo Shoemaker, 52, of Mount Joy passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of Arlene Bordell Spivey of Allensville and the late Foster Spivey. She was the loving wife of Bruce W. Shoemaker and they observed their 17th wedding anniversary in December of last year. Tawnee worked for twenty years at Physicians Support Systems, Mount Joy. She was a graduate of Carlisle High School.
Tawnee was a member of the Mount Joy American Legion Post 185 and a life member of the Mount Joy VFW Post 5752. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at the Bay. Tawnee loved all animals, especially her dogs and cats.
Surviving in addition to her husband are his children, Melinda wife of Tony Wenger of Manheim, Sarah Shoemaker of Mount Joy and Wayne husband of Alexis Shoemaker of Kansas, three grandchildren and one on the way, one brother, Michael husband of Nannette Spivey of Hummelstown and nephew, Trevor Spivey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate Tawnee’s life at a drop-in from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 PM at the Mount Joy VFW, 125 Longenecker Road, Mount Joy on Saturday, March 29, 2014.
