Sylvia B. Bard

Sylvia B. Bard, 80, of Manheim, died peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Minnie Barto Balmer. She was the wife of Clair E. Bard and they would have observed their 46th wedding anniversary on August 22nd. Sylvia worked many years for Donegal Industries. She was a member of the East Fairview Church of the Brethren, Manheim. Sylvia had a life-long passion and love for cats.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Clair; are four step daughters: Kathleen A. Gerhart wife of Calvin “John” Stagner of Manheim, Lynn S. Bard of Kennewick, WA, Christine E. wife of Larry Lundstrom of Edna, TX, Sarah wife of Larry Ferro of Billings, MT, eight step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is a step grandson, a sister, Grace Ginder, and two brothers: Abel and Emerson Balmer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sylvia’s funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in East Fairview Brethren Cemetery, Manheim.
