Susan Arlene "Suzie" Keener Shoemaker

    Susan Arlene “Suzie” Keener Shoemaker, 78, of Manheim, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Lebanon Nursing Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Ruth (Blecher) Keener. 

   A 1964 graduate of Manheim Central High School. Suzie was an active and faithful member of Hope Episcopal Church, Manheim, where she served as a Vestry Member and Officer of the Women’s group. Suzie worked in accounting/customer service departments with various employers. She was a Girl Scout Leader, volunteered at Lancaster General Hospital in the gift shop, and Landis Valley Museum with the weather vane shop. Suzie enjoyed spending time with family, camping, and crocheting. 

   Surviving are three daughters: Tami wife of Todd Auchey, of Fayetteville, Lori Shoemaker, of Manheim, Jodi Shoemaker, of Mount Joy, a son, Paul husband of Kathy Shoemaker, of Manheim, nine grandchildren: Katrina, Aaron, Courtney, William, Daniel, Chad, Adam, Emili, Kate; a sister, Debra Keener of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews, and a companion Lester Bashore, of Bethel. Preceding her in death are two sisters: Ruth Ann Gruber and Becky Montgomery. 

   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Suzie’s Graveside Service at Hope Episcopal Church Cemetery, 2425 Mountain Road, Manheim, on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Friends may also visit with the family at the church parish hall immediately following the graveside service on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Susan’s memory to Manheim Central Food Pantry, C/O Salem U.M.C., 140 North Penn Street, Manheim, PA 17545.
