Steven K. Marion, 61, of Manheim, PA. and formerly of Ithaca, N.Y., died peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Ithaca, he was the son of Doris Poyer Marion of Ocala, FL., and the late Calvin C. Marion. Steve was the beloved husband of Lisa M. Seymour Marion, and devoted father of Chris and Heather. Steve received a bachelor of arts degree from Binghamton University, Harpur College in 1978. After graduation, he managed Poyer Orchards and Equipment in Ithaca, NY., then went on to become the Director of Maintenance at Swarthout Coaches. Steve leaves a void at Motor Coach Industries, where he was the Director of Customer Solutions. Customers of new and existing coaches across the US relied on Steve for all their needs from warranty and training to troubleshooting mechanical and technical problems. He was nicknamed "Critter" because he always had the solution.
Steve thrived on the intensity of his work life, but found peace in the landscapes of Sedona and the Grand Canyon. He liked his Yamaha and taught Lisa to ride so they could cruise together. He loved scuba diving in the Florida Keys, but had second thoughts when a fluorescent green eel followed him down the coast in the Caymans. Steve's passions were gourmet cooking, entertaining and home improvement projects. He will be missed by his furry buddy, Snuggy, a Maine coon cat.
Surviving in addition to his wife Lisa, is a son, Christopher H. Marion and his fiancee' Christine Muss of Binghamton, N.Y., a daughter, Heather C. Marion of Spencer, N.Y., a granddaughter, Michaela Wood, a brother, Scott (Jean) Marion of Mosheim, TN, and two sisters: Carol Marion of Ithaca, and Jennifer (Terry) Kouba of Dunnellon, FL.
