Stephen J. Gurba Jr., 82, of Manheim, passed away at home on Thursday, April 6, 2017. Born in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Stephen J. and Theresa Cwalina Gurba. He was the loving husband of Marlene Herb Gurba for 62 years. Stephen worked over thirty years as a military fuze engineer for the Department of Defense and finished his career at Bulova Technologies Group, Inc. where he was the Vice-President of Fuze Technology. He graduated from Coal Township High School, Shamokin and Penn State University with an AS Degree in Engineering. Stephen was an active and faithful attendee at St. Peter Catholic Church, Elizabethtown and he was a long-standing member of the Johnsonburg Gun Club, New Jersey.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Stephen L. husband of Rosy Gurba of Florida, Brenda Lee wife of Dennis Placko of Manheim, Angela Renning of Mount Joy, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, John Gurba and son-in-law Ralph Renning.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim, PA on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.
