Stella K. Brubaker, 89, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Brethren Village Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Lebanon County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Viola Adams Knauer. Stella was the loving wife of Carl G. Brubaker and they celebrated 67 years of marriage this past January. She was a faithful member of Lititz Church of the Brethren and was a proud graduate of Manheim Township High School. A homemaker, Stella later went on to work at the former Rea & Derick Drug Stores now known as CVS. She had a passion for fruit and vegetable gardening with her husband and she was known for her delicious blueberries. Stella was a great cook who enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are four children, Dean E. husband of Verna E. Brubaker, of Bel Air, MD, Dawn E. French, of Livingston, MT, Dana B. Cotton, of Montgomery Village, MD, Dale E. husband of Lynn M. Brubaker, of Ephrata, seven grandchildren, Martin husband of Rachel Widenhouse, of Naples, Italy, Ashley French wife of Robert Pantalone, of West Hartford, CT, Joshua husband of Marisa French, of Billings, MT, Margaret E. Cotton, of Bethesda, MD, Elizabeth J. Cotton, of Annapolis, MD, Madison T. Brubaker, and Ethan C. Brubaker, two great grandchildren, Bryce Pantalone and Jackson Cotton, both at home, a sister, Amy Groff, of Belleville, and two foster children, Robert Zunich, of South Dakota, and Ronnie Zunich, of Pennsylvania. Preceding her in death is a son-in-law, Mark S. French, and three siblings, Esther Ruhl, and Harry and Alvin Knauer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Stella’s funeral service at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 West Orange Street, Lititz, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Chiques Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
