 Sieglinde Heisey Weiler passed away in her sleep on Friday, December 27, 2024. She was 85 years 8 months old. Siggi or Oma, as she was known to friends and family, was born in Stuttgart, Germany on April 11, 1939. After graduating from her schooling, she worked as a legal secretary until meeting a handsome man in the U.S Military—Melvin Heisey. They married and then moved to the United States where Melvin was honorably discharged from the Army. They then returned to Melvin’s roots by moving to Columbia, Pa. They eventually settled in the area known as Farmdale where they raised three children: Andy, Tanya and Steve. 

 

Sieglinde was preceded in death by her father and mother August and Louse Fischer in Germany; a sister, Ingrid Cane, wife of Matthew Cane who still resides in Hilldale, NY and a brother, Wilfred Fischer in Germany. She also lost her youngest son Steve Heisey who passed at the age of 56. Siggi was widowed three times. First by the father of her children, Melvin Heisey, in 1983 after 22 years of marriage. Her second husband, Raymond Heisey, passed after 4 years of marriage in 1989 and her third husband, Theodore “Teddy” Weiler passed after 7 years of marriage in 2000. 

 

Surviving Sieglinde is her sister Jutta Fischer in Hemet, CA, her son Andreas “Andy” Heisey of Wrightsville, and her daughter Tanya Rambler and her husband Donald of Manheim. She had five grandchildren: Kaitlin Krogh, and her husband Josh of Davidson, NC; Brandi Cooper, and her husband Christopher of Lititz; Sacha Wright and her husband Kyle of Glenville; Brook Heisey of Manheim and Tyler Heisey of Manheim. There are also four great-grandchildren Hannah, Nathan, Toby and Callum. 

 

Her memorial service will be held at the Lebanon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1870 Colebrook Road, Lebanon, PA on Saturday February 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
