Shirley C. Shelly-Eshelman

            Shirley C. Shelly-Eshelman, 89, of Manheim, was taken into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Mary Alice Snell Coleman. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth K. Shelly who passed away in 2003 and the late Gilbert W. Eshelman who passed away in 2016. Shirley was an Obstetric Registered Nurse at the former Osteopathic Hospital, Lancaster followed by working as an administrative assistant for the Manheim Borough Office for 30 years. She was a member of Calvary Church, Lancaster where she served as a greeter. Shirley was also Past President of the former Jaycee Janes, Manheim, volunteered for Manheim Meals on Wheels and helped coordinate the Manheim Garden Tours. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, reading, birdwatching and she loved all animals, especially dogs.

            Surviving are three daughters: Debra Ann wife of Larry Haldeman of Manheim, Audrey M. wife of Robert Griffin of Middletown, Juliann L. Menley of Manheim, seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

            Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Shirley’s Memorial Service at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Friday morning

from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private in Penryn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Shirley’s memory to Water Street Mission, 210 South Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 or Humane League of Lancaster, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
