Shirley J. Lyon, 76, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and formerly of Lancaster County, passed away on September 24, 2020. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Eby and Catherine Rohrer Clark. She built a life for herself in Kalamazoo, MI, living there for 44 years. After working as an LPN, she ultimately retired from Goodwill Industries after roughly 20 years. Shirley surrounded herself with friends, frequenting potlucks and game nights, and had a reputation for the best cherry pie around. She also enjoyed Bible study at Light House Ministries and cared deeply for her family.
Surviving are two sons: Loren C. Denlinger husband of Charlene Drumm of Madison, WI, Wesley K. husband of Tamara Troyer Denlinger of Oceanside, CA, four grandchildren, and a sister, Porcia A. wife of Richard Breckbill of Oxford. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is her husband Don Lyon, and a sister, Phyllis Clark.
A celebration service to honor Shirley’s life is planned for 2021 in Lancaster County, when it is safe again to do so.
