Shirley J. Habecker

Shirley J. Habecker, 83, of Gretna Springs, Manheim, died peacefully, Tuesday February 25, 2025 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. She was the widow of Ronald E. Habecker who died in 2017. Born in Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late David I. and Helen B. (Kulmer) Dickel. 

Shirley enjoyed spending time over many years at family cabins in Tioga and Centre counties where she loved seeing the deer, bears, and other wildlife. She also enjoyed arts & crafts, particularly ceramics. She could be found regularly visiting the Brickerville House to eat and socialize, sometimes twice a day. But what brought her the greatest joy was loving her children and granddaughters. She was generous with her time, always happy to taxi her children to sporting events or other activities as well as play host and feed the regular group of friends who came to visit.

 Surviving are two sons, Jere husband of Darlene Habecker, Charleston, SC, Scott husband of Jenny Habecker, Hummelstown; and two granddaughters Serena and Aleesa. Shirley was one of nine children to David and Helen.

 Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
