Shirley Ann Stalker

Shirley Ann Stalker, age 80, of Warwick Township, passed away December 19, 2020. Born August 26, 1940 in Fairview Township, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Lillian A. (Miller) Paslawski of Chicora. Shirley is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard, originally from Hilliards; daughter Marsha Bischel and her husband Wesley of Lancaster, son Roger Stalker and his wife Lisa of Danbury, CT; grandson Samuel Bischel; step-grandson Michael Thayer; and sister Nancy Pistorius and her husband Guy of Chicora.

Shirley grew up in Chicora and was a 1958 graduate of Fairview Township-Karns City High School. With her husband Richard, she lived in Swarmsville, NY; Irondequoit, NY; Ridgefield, CT; and Warwick Township.

Shirley’s interests included travel, historic preservation, hiking, cross country skiing and scrap booking. She and her husband had vacationed in all 50 States and over 50 foreign countries on 6 continents. She especially enjoyed the National Parks and touring European palaces and ancient ruins.

During her 27 years living in Ridgefield, Shirley served on the Boards of Trustees of the historic Keeler Tavern, Ridgefield, the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead, Windsor, and the Scott-Fanton Historical Society, Danbury, and was Chairman of the Jonathan Trumbull Homestead in Lebanon. A member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution for 44 years, she had served as Regent of the Mary Wooster Chapter, NSDAR of Danbury, CT, CT-DAR State Assistant Treasurer and numerous CT State and Chapter chairmanships; she was also a life member of the CT State Officers and Regent Club. Shirley was also a frequent school volunteer, supporting the activities of her two children.

Shirley and Richard retired to Warwick Township in 2000, where they enjoyed many of the local activities, and continued their travels.

Services will be private. Shirley requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Lititz Warwick Community Chest, 200 W Orange St, Lititz, PA 17543, your local food bank, or your local chapter of the Salvation Army.
