Shirley A. Wright, 77, passed away after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Warwick Township she was the daughter of the late William and Katie Althouse Zell. She was the wife of her beloved husband, Kirby L. Wright Jr. for 43 years. Shirley graduated from Warwick High School in 1952. A homemaker, Shirley was a member of the Manheim Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church. She worked in the past at Bedford & Aslam Shoe Companies, Raybestos, Stiegel Printing and Manheim Central High School Cafeteria. She enjoyed her past travels and everyday life with Kirby and the endless patience and care for Jimmy their dog. Shirley was a good family manager and especially enjoyed holiday gatherings at their home. She was known for her quick wit and practical decision making. She had a passion for playing the piano, shopping for the grandchildren, playing scrabble, and she completed two crossword puzzles a day. Shirley passed on to her family a legacy of unconditional love. Surviving in addition to her husband are three children. She was the loving mother of, Cole husband of Ruth Cramer Kauffman of Manheim, Timothy husband of Cindy Graybill Kauffman of Landisville, and Cindy Kauffman wife of Steve Armer of Brunnerville. She was the loving grandmother and friend of, Joby, Jason, Nicole, Joey, and John Kauffman, Gretchen Leed, Joshua, Jesse, and Alissa Armer. She was the loving great grandmother of; Dylan and Dakota Enck, Logan, Eva, Veronica, and Elsie Armer, Vivian, Joel, and Jasper Kauffman. A brother, Stanley husband of Cleo Zell of Lititz, two sisters, Phyllis Hess of Harrisburg, and Mary Jane Zell of Lancaster. She will also be missed by her close friends and neighbors, Jim, Joan, Nancy and Emma and her "Best Friend", Jimmy the Cockapoo. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and John Zell and two sisters, Kathryn Zimmerman and Dorothy Oxenreider. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 4:00 PM. Interment will be held at Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM until the time of service.
