Shirley Mae Hanley

Shirley Mae Hanley, 88, formerly of Perkasie, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown where she had been residing with her loving husband Gerald.  Born in Rifton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Emily (Lowe) Schermerhorn.  She enjoyed playing the piano, organ, and accordion, and was a former vocalist at her church.  She also enjoyed visiting the casino.

     Surviving in addition to her husband Gerald is a son Gerald Jr. husband of Colleen Hanley of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters Kathleen Joan, wife of Alan Rice, Quakertown; Cynthia Sue, wife of Mark Stettler, Paradise; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and a son in-law Craig Bordner, Hereford.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Debra Joy Bordner who was the wife of Craig until her passing.  Shirley was the last living child of eight children, and she was preceded in death by Ruth, Margie, Bernard Jr., Kenny Herbert, Albert and Ray.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial service at  the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, on the grounds at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, on Saturday April 1, 2023 at 11:00 am.   There will be a time of visitation and luncheon with the family immediately following the memorial service in the Brosman IV event room located in the Free Mason Cultural Center.
