Ruth I. Doerrer, 87, of Manheim, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, November 16 2014. She was the wife of the late Charles D. Doerrer and the late Paul W. Brosey, Sr. Born in East Hempfield Twp. she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Moyer) Dyer. Ruth was a homemaker most of her working life, but had worked for the Macke Food Services at Howmet Corp. of Lancaster. Ruth was a faithful member of the Mount Joy Church of God since 1978, and was active with the Church of God Seniors and the Home Department of the Church. Ruth will be remembered as being a great cook and especially for preparing meals for the holidays. She enjoyed interior decorating as a hobby; she also enjoyed working in the flower garden, and loved the companionship of household pets.
Surviving are three sons Paul W. Jr. husband of Carol (Myers) Brosey of Lititz, Barry L. Brosey of Landisville, Brian E. Brosey of Manheim; two daughters Joyce A. wife of Glenn Bitner of Lancaster, Janet L. wife of Michael Ritchie of Manheim; seven grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Anna Kulp and Marie Knosp, and three brothers Raymond, Lloyd, and Stanley Dyer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Mount Joy Church of God, 30 E. Main St. Mount Joy, on Thursday November 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Salunga Brethren Cemetery. There will be a public viewing on Thursday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
