Ruth Ginder Rudy, 90, formerly of Manheim, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Spang Crest Manor, Lebanon. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Naomi Novinger Ginder. Ruth was the wife of the late George M. Rudy who died in 1995. She proudly served her country in the Navy (WAVES) during World War II, as an aviation machinist stationed at Whiting Field in Pensacola, Fl. Ruth was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim; and a member of the Blue Mountain Waves. Ruth was an avid New York Yankees fan. When she was 86 years old she took 1st place in the Columbia/Wrightsville Bridge walk in the 80 and over category. Surviving are two sons: Robert husband of Elinor Gerock of Manheim, Michael Rudy of Myerstown, two daughters: Barbara Gerock Mayer of Hershey, Patricia Rudy of Lock Haven, three granddaughters: Dawn Reichenbach, Michelle Mayer, Gwen Weaver, six great grandchildren; Madison, Colby, Arianna, Sophia, Madelyn, and Kate. Preceding her in death are five brothers: Guy, Harry, Miles, Earl, and Robert Ginder, one sister, Edna Shonk, and a grandson, Bryan Gerock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ruth's graveside service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family will meet at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square, Manheim, on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM to leave promptly in procession to the cemetery at 1:10 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Ruth's memory to the Humane League Of Lancaster County 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
