Russell W. Schmidt

Russell W. Schmidt, 62, of Elizabethtown, died unexpectedly on January 9, 2025 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He was the loving husband of late Elizabeth M. Schmidt who died in 2021. Born in Rockville Centre, NY he is the son of Virginia (Wiedman) Schmidt of Elizabethtown and the Late George W. Schmidt.

Russell was a baggage handler for United Airlines. He was an avid sportsman and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. He was also an avid train collector.

 Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, Matthew, husband of Cheyenne Schmidt, and Nicholas Schmidt, all of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Rhett, and Boden; a brother Vern, husband of Dawn Schmidt, Middletown; and a sister Georgia wife of Chris Cambria, Elizabethtown.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Russell and Elizabeth’s Gathering of family & friends for a time of remembrance. At the Buch Funeral Home, 21 W. Main Street, Mount Joy, on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
