Roy S. Ulrich, 88, of Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz and formerly of Manheim passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Clayton N. and Katie Snavely Ulrich. He was the loving husband of Minerva N. Diffenderfer Ulrich and they would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in September. Roy retired from Wilbur Chocolate, Lititz, after 31 years and in his earlier years he was a tenant farmer. He also enjoyed custom rototilling in the Manheim area. Roy was an active and faithful member of the Manheim Mennonite Church for over 75 years where he served as trustee, usher and secretary. His interests included gardening and traveling and he loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Robert Lee husband of Jane Walters Ulrich of Montoursville, Doris Jean wife of Pastor Marlin Ebersole of Chambersburg, Dale Eugene husband of Joyce Shearer Ulrich of Manheim, Rose Marie wife of Carl Weber of Lebanon, ten grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and three sisters, Mae S. wife of Paul Kline of Brunnerville, Esther S. Watts of Lititz and Grace S. wife of Russell Yost of Lexington. He was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Kadriah Ebersole, half brother, Clarence Nauman and a brother, Martin Ulrich.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Manheim Mennonite Church, 201 West High Street, Manheim on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Interment in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. There will be a public viewing at Landis Homes Retirement Community, WEST BETHANY CHAPEL, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz on Friday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
