Ronald Lee Vogel, 74, of Manheim, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on Saturday January 13, 2018 at Lebanon VA Medical Center after a brief illness. Ron was the husband of Marian (Hershey) Vogel and they celebrated 52 years of marriage in June 2017. Born in Palmerton PA he was the son of the late Wesley A. and Lucreta (Reber) Vogel. Ron was a driver for the Schwerman Trucking, Nazareth PA and then a driver and yard jockey for Yellow Freight Co. of East Petersburg for 33 years before retiring. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Army. Ron was blessed by providing BRF Library Tape and a Bible Helps Ministries. In his free time Ron enjoyed cutting and splitting wood, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife Marian are two sons Daniel husband of Jennifer (Horst) Vogel, Lebanon, David husband of Diane (Burkholder) Vogel, Bernville; a daughter Kenda wife of John Beck, Robesonia; and 14 grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren, and a sister Shirleen Kuntz.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at Calvary Chapel, 740 Willow St., Lebanon PA on Friday January 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM. There will be time of viewing and visitation with the family on Friday at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim from 10:30 AM until 12:00 noon, followed by interment with military honors in Graybill’s Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Ron’s memory may be sent to Bible Helps, P.O. Box 391, Hanover PA 17331.
