Roger J. Brandt, 87, of Mount Joy, died peacefully, Friday, January 26, 2024 at Elizabethtown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the widower of Arlene (Reisinger) Brandt who died in 2001. Born in Palmyra, he was the son of the late Jacob M. and Florence (Moyer) Brandt. Roger had worked for the former Klein Chocolate Factory, and retired from M&M Mars Manufacturing as Maintenance Supervisor, both of Elizabethtown. He was a member of Cross Roads Church, Mount Joy. Roger had a fondness for motorcycles and cars and was a lifetime member of the Harley Owner’s Group (HOG) and a member of the Lincoln Club.
Surviving are three step-sons, William E. Quickel (Sheryl), Barry L. Quickel, Donald L. Quickel (Rosemarie); 7 grandchildren, William Jr., Jennifer, Barry Jr., Luke, Daniel Natalie and Dustin; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Jacob and Alvin Brandt, and a sister Erma Perri.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Cross Roads Church, 800 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, on Thursday February 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in the adjoining cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
