Robert S. "Bobby" Hummer, 47, of Farmview Lane, Mount Joy, formerly of Manheim died unexpectedly on Friday, November 4, 2011. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of William C. husband of Donna L. Burd Hummer of Manheim and the late Darlene J. Seidel Hummer. Bobby was a graduate of Manheim Central High School in 1983 and the World Wide College of Auctioneering, Mason City, Iowa in 1992. Top of his profession in automobile auctioneering for over 15 years, he provided top level auctioneering services for the world's largest auto auction corporations; Manheim Auto Auction Corporation and the Adesa Auctions Corporation. He currently contracted at the Manheim's New York Auto Auction, Adesa New Jersey and Adesa Long Island. Bobby was also employed part-time for Sporting Valley Turf Farms, Inc., Manheim. He was a member of the Elizabethtown VFW Post 5667 and Elstonville Sportsmen Association, Manheim. His interests included, hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. Surviving in addition to his father and stepmother are two daughters, Melanie L. Hummer of Lancaster, Breianna L. Hummer of Mount Joy, three sisters, LuAnn wife of Anthony Cicero of Denver, PA, Deborah L. Webster of Manheim, Barbara S. wife of Richard Meier Jr. of Elizabethtown, two nieces, Michelle and Angie, two nephews, Joe and Shaun. Bobby is also survived by his longtime companion, Doreen Drake of Mount Joy. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Andrew. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at East Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the Buch Funeral Home, 21 Market Square, Manheim on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with additional visitation at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
