Robert E. “Bob” Moyer, 87, of Manheim passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born in Rapho Township, he was the son of the late Norman H. and Ethel Keener Moyer. He was the loving husband of Mary Weitzel Moyer and they would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in November. Bob owned and operated his construction business in Lancaster County and in his earlier years he was the former owner of Trailer Village, Lancaster. Bob graduated from the former Manheim High School in 1949. He was a member of Manheim Brethren In Christ Church and volunteered with the Manheim Meals on Wheels. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
A sports enthusiast, Bob was a Manheim Central Baron’s fan and enjoyed woodworking, antiques and he loved to spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Douglas husband of Denise Moyer, Bradley husband of Kerrie Moyer both of Manheim, five grandchildren, Jarryd, Allison, Chase, Maranda, Landan, four great grandchildren, Jhett, Bryce, Lyla, Krew and three sisters, Annabelle Honafius of Manheim, Ethel wife of Lewis Slack, Nancy wife of Kenneth Musser both of Denver and a sister-in-law, Joanne Moyer of Lititz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Moyer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s funeral service in the chapel at Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township.
