Robert E. “Bob” Deibert, 72, of Lititz, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Adamsdale, he was the son of the late Nathan and Katie Lengle Deibert. He was the loving husband of Linda Herr Deibert and they observed their 51st wedding anniversary on October 10th.
In 1961 Bob graduated from Blue Mountain High School. He continued his education at Thaddeus Stevens Trade School and graduated in 1964. Bob worked at PP&L in Lancaster for 32 years. After retiring, he enjoyed driving school bus for Shultz Transportation for 14 years.
Bob loved spending time with family. He especially enjoyed going to his kids’ and grandkids’ activities and other local sporting events. He belonged to the Swing Thru’s and the Hickory Run Around square dancing clubs. Bob was an active member of the Lititz United Methodist Church where he was part of the men’s harmony group, a member of the Special “K” Sunday school class, and served many years on the Church Life Committee. Bob loved spending time at their beach house in Pot Nets near Rehoboth Beach, DE where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and clamming. He loved traveling, playing cards, gardening, and his Philadelphia Eagles. He loved people and always found the good in everyone.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda; are two daughters: Kathy wife of Chet Hinkelman of Reading, Kristy Deibert of Ephrata, a son, Michael Deibert of Lititz, four grandchildren: Kathryn Hinkelman, Brianna Hinkelman, Mariel Deibert, Mitchell Deibert, and a sister, Elizabeth Krause of Pine Grove. Preceding him in death is a sister, Dorothy Wildermuth, and two brothers: Earl Deibert and George Wenrich.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob’s Celebration of Life Service at the Lititz United Methodist Church, 201 East Market Street, Lititz, on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Bob’s memory to the Lititz United Methodist Church Building Fund, 201 East Market Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
