Robert C. “Bob” Elsner, 89, of Lititz, and formerly of Riverdale, N.J. died peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Little Falls, N.J., he was the son of the late Charles B. and Bessie Cooke Elsner. For over 30 years Bob worked in customer service for Public Service Electric and Gas Company in New Jersey. For many years Bob was a School Crossing Guard in Wayne, N.J., he also was a Softball Umpire for High School games and Youth Leagues. He attended the United Methodist Church of Wayne, N.J. His interests included: bowling, fishing, baseball, and rooting for his New York Yankees. Bob especially treasured being a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren whom he adored.
Surviving is a daughter, Nancy, wife of Michael Buckman of Pittsburgh, a son, James “Jim”, husband of Susan Elsner of Lititz, six grandchildren: Bill, Brad, Amy, Jimmy, Rachel, David, and a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Suppo of Brattleboro, VT.
Services for Bob will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, N.J.
