Robert A. “BK” Kauffman, 65, of Manheim, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Charles W and Leona Smith Kauffman. BK was the loving husband of Beverly A. Stine Kauffman and they observed their 46th wedding anniversary in March of this year. He worked for Highland Tank Company, Manheim for many years; previously he was employed at Grinnell Industries, Columbia, and the former Raymark Industries, Manheim. BK was a lifetime member of: the Manheim VFW Post 5956, Germania Band Club, Manheim, American Legion Post 372, Columbia, Elstonville Sportsmen Association, and Dela-Ches Fishing Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and spending time in Huntingdon County. He had a life-long passion for his family, and cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Lisa M. wife of Ray Ginder, Kelly J. wife of Roger Souders all of Manheim, Kimberly S. Harnish companion of John Warner of Marietta, eleven grandchildren: Dustin, Benjamin, Anthony, Collean, Joseph, Bobby, Chelsea, Dillon, Alysha, Christian, Alex, five great-grandchildren: Gianna, Trinity, Logan, Kaylee, Aubrey, three sisters, Sandy wife of Harold Bates of Maine, Susan wife of Larry Cramer of Myerstown, and Rose wife of Kenneth Wenger of Littlestown, and a step brother, Charles husband of Charlotte Riggleman of Marietta.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Ruhl’s United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 12:30 PM. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. There will be a public viewing on Wednesday morning at the church from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Following the interment service at the cemetery everyone is invited to join the family at the Manheim V.F. W. 149 South Charlotte Street, Manheim, PA.
