Richard w. “Ricky” Boyer, 86, of Mount Joy, PA and formerly of Long Branch, NJ, died peacefully, Sunday May 7, 2017 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Eva (Pagano) Boyer and they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage this July. Born in Bedford Twp. He was the son of the late William and Elsie (Muller) Boyer. Ricky as he was affectionately known had been a field communication technical writer for the U.S. Army before retiring after 20 years of service in 1967. He then was employed by the U.S. Government in the same capacity for 20 years. Ricky enjoyed salt water fishing in New Jersey and Maine; also, he along with his wife were accomplished golfers. After retirement Ricky enjoyed the slower pace of life.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister Betty Wasko, Windber PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Grant Boyer, who served during WW II, and died during the Korean Conflict.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service at the Bedford United Methodist Church, 132 E. John St. Bedford, PA on Tuesday May 30, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Interment with military honors will be in Bedford County Memorial Park.
