Richard N. Zeigler, 67, of Manheim rounded first base and went straight to home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Born in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late, Norman and Helen Frankenstein Zeigler. Rich was the loving husband of Joyce Schweinsberg Zeigler and they would have observed their 45th wedding anniversary in July of this year. He was a 1970 graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Agriculture Management. Rich was the owner and operator of Zeigler’s Distributor Inc. in Lebanon. He was currently serving as the President of the Lebanon Valley Business Park, and as a member of the Christian Business Leadership Group. He was a member of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. Rich was a very active and faithful member of Jerusalem Church, Penryn, where he humbly served as Elder, Sunday school teacher and in many leadership positions. He was a member of the Manheim over 60 Men’s Softball Team and enjoyed playing in the league and his fellowship with all the players. His interests included golfing and tennis. Rich had a life-long passion for his family and he enjoyed spending time and participating in activities with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife Joyce, is a daughter, Renee wife of Shawn Reinfried of Lititz, two sons, Brian husband of Michelle Overturf Zeigler of Lebanon, Eric husband of Kelly Kruse Zeigler of Lititz, eight grandchildren: Delia Reinfried, Samuel Reinfried, Gete Reinfried, Chase Zeigler, Ashlyn Zeigler, Mya Zeigler, Macy Zeigler, Grayson Zeigler, a brother, David husband of Brenda Zeigler, two sisters: Maryann wife of Al Kramer, and Emily wife of Terry Kroll all of Zelienople. Rich was preceded in death by a grandson, Dane Mitchell Zeigler.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance, at the Manheim Brethren In Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 4:30 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the Manheim Brethren In Christ Church on Friday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Rich’s memory to Jerusalem Church Memorial Fund (For local families in need, or to the Nepal Earthquake Relief), 1620 Newport Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
