Rev. James Roy "Jim" Ketner

Rev. James Roy “Jim” Ketner, 85, formerly of Lititz went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Coatesville Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Born in Mill Hall, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy Weaver Ketner. He was the loving husband of Eva Strouse Ketner. Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and worked for the Lock Haven Express and Roanoke Times-World News prior to entering into the ministry. He served the Lord as Pastor at the Mastersonville, Colyer and Saxton Brethren in Christ Churches. Jim was also a member of Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Church, Mount Joy.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Barbara and George Dyer of Lancaster, Karen and Henry Olichwier of Roanoke, VA, Joni Jankowski of Vero Beach, FL and Scott Ketner of Lancaster; grandchildren, Christopher and Janelle Supplee of Leola, Matthew and Wendy Olichwier of Fredericksburg, VA, Lora Olichwier of Roanoke, VA, Douglas and Melissa Groff of Elizabethtown, Daryl and Alissa Groff of York, Jason and Alisa Sauder of Manheim, James S. Ketner of Huntingdon; great grandchildren, Cameron Windemaker Sr., Trey, Sheldan and Kiera Supplee, Madison and Landon Sauder and Kayden Ketner, one great great grandson, Cameron Windemaker Jr. and a sister, Miriam Zellers of Englewood, FL. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Shaffer.
The family wishes to thank the Coatesville VAMC Hospice staff for the excellent care and kindness to the entire family during the past four weeks.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his funeral service at Mount Pleasant Brethren In Christ Church, 1756 Mt. Pleasant Road, Mount Joy on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and again at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment in Mastersonville Cemetery.
