Reba H. Hershey, 93, of Manheim, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rebecca Heistand Hernley. Reba was the loving wife of the late John K. Hershey who died February of 2013. For ten years Reba was employed at the Manheim Auto Auction in the food service department. She was a faithful and active member of the White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and as a youth counselor for seventeen years. Reba was also active with Lay Renewal Ministries. In 1954 she volunteered at the International Work Camp in Germany. Throughout her life Reba appreciated her family heritage. In her later years Reba volunteered at Brethren Village. Her interests included vegetable and flower gardening and sewing.
Surviving is a brother, Peter A. husband of Mary Kathryn Hernley of Manheim, two sisters: Orpah H. Graybill of Lititz, Lois H. wife of Gordon Derstler of Lititz and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are three sisters: Naomi H. Greiner, Ruth H. Rohrer, and Jane Sheetz.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Reba’s memorial service at the White Oak Church of the Brethren, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim, on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 6:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at the church. Interment will be private in Graybill’s Brethren Cemetery, Elm.
