Raymond E. "Ray" Hargraves Sr.

Raymond E. “Ray” Hargraves Sr., 87 of Woodcrest Villa, Lancaster and formerly of Manheim passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Benedict, Virginia, he was the son of the late White W. and Myrtle Oaks Hargraves. He was the husband of the late Fran Lafferty and his first wife the late Inez Eakins Hargraves who died in 2004. Following retirement, Ray worked part-time at Longenecker’s Hardware, Manheim. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Manheim. In his earlier years, Ray lived in Pound, Va. where he worked, and was volunteer Fire Chief and an active member of the community. He was an avid fisherman and upon retirement started a successful woodcrafting business.

Surviving are three daughters, Judith wife of Gregory Burkholder of Manheim, Patricia wife of Gail Pierce of Clyde, Kansas, Brenda wife of Rickey Cantrell of Manheim, a son, Raymond E., Jr. ("Gene") husband of Michelle Johnson Hargraves of Lititz, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township.
