Raymond E. Ray Becker, 77 of 49 Sego Sago Rd, Manheim, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2010. Born in Lititz, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond D. and Lydia Hartenstine Becker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Raymond worked for Bond Foundry & Fenner (Manheim Belting) in Manheim. He loved being at his summer home in Mt. Gretna in earlier years. He also had an enjoyment for antique cars. Two favorites in his collection were his first car, now restored, a 37 Ford & his 66 Buick Electra convertible. He was also the owner of the Ferrari 250GT California Spyder raced during the 50s in Florida & won in its class. You could find him at toy auctions & at Roots Country Market Manheim. He was a 1950 graduate of Manheim Central High School. Raymond was a lifelong faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Manheim Historical Society & also the Historical Manheim Preservation Foundation Inc.
Surviving is a sister, Betty Jane (Becker) Spahr, wife of Elmer V. Spahr Jr., & a nephew, Vincent Eugene Spahr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Salem United Methodist Church 140 North Penn Street Manheim on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Richard W. Conner officiating. Interment in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim on Thursday evening from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM with additional viewing at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
