Ray H. Longenecker

Ray H. Longenecker, 90, of Lititz passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late Edwin and Lizzie Hershey Longenecker. He was the loving husband of Evelyn E. Shirk Longenecker and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in May. A lifelong farmer, Ray owned and operated the family farm in Penn Township for over forty years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim. Ray enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and spending time in the mountains.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Fred husband of Marci Longenecker of Lititz, Rick Longenecker of Manheim, grandson, Nick Longenecker, two brothers, Carl husband of Jane Longenecker of Lititz, Jacob Longenecker of Rothsville and two sisters, Elva Miller wife of the late Ernest Miller and Floy wife of Virgil Kover both of Lititz. He was also survived by, Elva Martin of Lititz. Ray was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Copenhaver.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Salem United Methodist Church, 140 North Penn Street, Manheim on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Longenecker’s Brethren Cemetery, Warwick Township. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service. Please omit flowers.
