Ray B. Miller

Ray B. Miller, 82, of North Laurel Street, Manheim passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 surrounded by his family at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late Harvey and Emma Buckwalter Miller. He was the husband of Teloive "Toy" Martin Miller and they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in January of this year. Retired in 1990, Ray worked in the logistics department at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville for thirty two years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Ray graduated from Manheim Township in 1947. He was an active and faithful member at Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim for fifty years and served on various committees at the church. His interests included traveling, watching the Philadelphia Phillies and he was an avid Manheim Central Sports fan. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Philip R. husband of Debbie Miller of Parkesburg, two daughters, Sharon M. wife of G. Douglas Winters and Sandra M. wife of Kevin Bookman all of Manheim; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan and Kurt Miller, Angela and Charlie Winters, Matthew and Andrew Bookman and a brother, Jay B. husband of Reba Miller of Lititz. He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Edgar, Ethel Bushong, Wilbur, Richard, Harvey, Warren, David and Carl Miller. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Salem United Methodist Church, 140 North Penn Street, Manheim on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Melinda L. McKonly officiating. Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township. There will be a public viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
