Manheim

Randall B. “Randy” “Hoss” Caldwell, 76, of Manheim, passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones close by, on Wednesday, the 25th of September, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lloyd S. and Edith M. (Hess) Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jeffrey L. Caldwell, who passed in 2023. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (Trumbauer) Caldwell, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage this past May. Also surviving are a daughter, Laura J. Caldwell Wilson of Manheim and her children, Kyra, Kalli, and Kyler, and a son, Timothy D. Caldwell, husband of Sarah, and their daughter Isabella. Also, two brothers, Mike Caldwell (Dawn) and Richard Caldwell (Jean) both of Lititz, plus numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Randy graduated from Manheim Township High School in 1966, and attended classes at Stevens Trade School and HACC. He retired in 2010 after spending many years as an electrician at several county industries including Fuller Company in Manheim and Charles Chips in Mountville. He also founded and ran his own company, Caldwell Custom Electric for several years. His life revolved around spending time with his family, taking trips to the Jersey and Maryland Shore and attending the children’s school activities. He liked to build things like the backyard playhouse and playground he built for his children, and could fix most anything around the house or on the car. Next to his family, riding motorcycle was his greatest passion and he continued to ride until 2019, often with his sidekick/wife on board. As a young man he enjoyed racing his car and motorcycle at Maple Grove Dragway and he liked to watch drag racing on TV. He was a big fan of Evil Knievel and all his exploits, as well as all Clint Eastwood movies and Sci-Fi thrillers.

Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. Those who desire to can make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
