Ramon Almodovar, 96, of Lancaster, and formerly of Wrightsville, and Hudson, FL., died peacefully surrounded by his family and went home to be his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Bernardino and Juana Rivera Almodovar. Ramon was the loving husband of the late Ada E. Stoltzfus Almodovar who died in January of 2015; his first wife was the late Juanita Velazquez Almodovar who died in December of 1967. For many years Ramon worked as a Foreman for the John Cope’s Food Products Inc. He attended LCBC Manheim Campus. Ramon’s interests included: working on cars, WWE Wrestling, vegetable gardening, rooting for the Phillies and having the best breakfast possible. His family knew him as a “World Class” Dominos player that very few could beat. Above all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who had a deep love and passion for his family and for his Lord.
Surviving is a son, Ramon Jr. husband of Blanca Almodovar of Nicaragua, a step son, Robert husband of Brenda Boyd of Wrightsville, four daughters: Marie Almodovar of Lancaster, Andrea wife of Jason Pabon of Lancaster, Margarita wife of Pedro Torres Sr. of Sabastian, FL., Juanita Hernandez of Palm Bay, FL., two step daughters: Christian Boyd of Columbia, Robin Petzold of Columbia, 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, 9 brothers and 3 sisters. Preceding him in death are two sons: Jesus Manuel, Jesus Manuel II, five grandchildren: Charles Flowers III, Gloria Hernandez, Carmen Santiago, Jesus Almodovar, Pedro A. Torres Jr., a great grandson, Eli Santiago, two brothers and a sister.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ramon’s funeral service at the LCBC Manheim Campus in the Loft Auditorium, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Please park in the rear of the church and use the Plaza Entrance. The family would like to invite those attending the service to join them for light refreshments following the service.
