R. Ray Zug, 71, of 852 Mount Joy Road, Manheim died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Norman H. and Louise Felker Zug. Ray worked twenty -five years at the former Raymark Industries, Manheim. He was the husband of Betty R. Degler Zug and they would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in April of this year. Ray was a United States Army veteran serving as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Barry H. husband of Linda Krizmanich Zug of Pittsburgh; two step-daughters, Roberta wife of Frank Peachey of Lancaster and Cynthia wife of William Ernst Sr. of East Petersburg; four grandchildren, Garrett, Kevin, William Jr. and Lisa, two great grandsons, John and Carter; two sisters, Betty Good of Bowmansville and Loretta Steiner of Manheim. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Zug. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Herbert H. Hibshman Jr. officiating. Interment is in Tulpehocken Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery, Richland. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday evening (tonight) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and with additional viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
