R. Roberta "Bobbie" Diehm

    R. Roberta “Bobbie” Diehm, 85, of Elm, was called home to be with her lord on Friday, October 11, 2024 following a brief stay at Luther Acres skilled nursing care, Lititz. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Keehn Frederick. She was married to her high school sweetheart Dale F. Diehm and they were happily married for 52 years prior to his passing in 2008. Surviving is a son, Timothy, husband of Dawn Diehm of Elm, three Grandchildren: Jennifer wife of Brett Gerhart of Elm, Emily wife of Chad Schnee of Lititz, John Diehm of Lancaster, nine Great-grandchildren, and a sister Sylvia Frederick of Lancaster. Preceding her in death is a son, Thomas Diehm and infant twin daughters. She was a loving Grandma and Great Grandma.

   Roberta graduated from Lititz High School Class of 1956. She was a homemaker for years on their family farm in Elm; later working part time at businesses in Lititz such as Wertz Vision Center, and the Wilbur Chocolate Store. She then joined her husband as an office manager at Diehm & Sons Land Surveyors, Lititz, retiring in 1995. Roberta led a full life, enjoying traveling and spending time at their vacation homes; in Cape May, NJ, Mount Gretna, and their log cabin in Lycoming County that she and Dale built together. She loved her Bichon Frise “little white dogs” of which she owned three over the years. She was an accomplished watercolor artist, piano and organ player, and obtained an Associate Degree in Bible Studies from Liberty University. She was an active and faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church of Lititz. Roberta was a member of the Lititz Garden Club, and the Young at Heart Bowling League in her younger years. She had a sincere servant’s heart, volunteering at the former Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz, and the Lititz Historical Society. 

   The family would like to thank the staff at Luther Acres skilled nursing care and Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster, for their compassionate care and support.

  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 44 East Orange Street, Lititz, on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Penryn Cemetery.
