Phyllis E. Ober, 88, of Lebanon Road, Manheim passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Cloyd and Myrtle Weaver Thomas. Phyllis was the wife of the late Greiner E. Ober who died in 1999. She worked in production at the former RCA, Lancaster and she worked with her husband as a bookkeeper at the former J.W. Schutte Welding Supplies, Lancaster. Phyllis was a member at Mount Hope United Christian Church, Manheim. Her interests included reading, ceramics, playing cards and board games.
Surviving is a stepdaughter, Phyllis Shiley of Lancaster, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Joanne Clawson, a stepson, William Ober, one sister, Virginia Young and three brothers, Cloyd, Bernard and Robert Thomas.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at the Buch Funeral Home 21 Market Square Manheim on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Interment in Ruhls United Methodist Cemetery, Rapho Township. There will be a public viewing at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
